Is Jewish suffering morally equivalent to Palestinian?

‘I find it strange, bizarre in fact, that every time someone talks of Palestinian suffering they are either guilty of anti-semitism or somehow belittling the memory of Jewish suffering during the holocaust.

This label of anti-semitism applies to well-meaning and honest Jews as well. Why is it that every person who has an opinion on the subject of Israel in relation to Palestine is guilty of anti-semitism until they prove themselves innocent by endorsing Israel’s unethical actions in unequivocal terms? How can a person be sensitive to the sufferings of European Jews who are victims of Nazism and be indifferent to the sufferings of women and children of Gaza?’

‘I am neither Jew nor Arab Muslim. Their histories are not my history. I have no reason on earth to think one is better than the other. I certainly would go to my grave believing that Nazism is evil. Similarly, I would go to the same grave believing that colonialism and slavery are evils. I have not even the slightest doubt in my mind that what Israel is doing to the Palestinians is nothing short of evil. The point is not whether two sufferings are the same. The point is whether two evils are the same. Are Nazism, colonialism and slavery evils to be similarly condemned? Yes. Is Israeli occupation of Palestinian Territories unjust, and by extension, evil? The answer is yes, again.’

  1. One must however recognise that the Jews did not hurl exploding devices at Hitler and his band of merry men. They were actually successful business people, creative and contributing to society.
So, no, one cannot compare this event to Gaza.
What I do find abhorrent is the children have been starving in Yemen, no one fussed too much about that. I have pictures I have drawn of scenes in Syria with broken buildings. Starving too. Aid trucks were not see driving in by the tens.
Children are dying, kidnapped and turned into soldiers or slaves in Africa.
Children are suffering everywhere even in first world countries from abuse and violence in their own homes.
Children in Africa grow into unruly angry people who sometimes go crazy and break things and loot and even murder.
The adults in the room are deplorable and they have no excuse. My generation had the best of things even though my family was classed as poor. We were educated. As girls.
    Then there is Afghanistan.

The Mexican Drug War is an ongoing conflict between the Mexican government and multiple powerful and violent drug trafficking cartels. It is estimated that the war on drugs has led to at least 350,000 deaths—with more than 72,000 people still missing—from January 2006 to May 2021.

Which countries are currently at war?

Russia and Ukraine are at war. Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Iraq, Yemen, Syria, Somalia, Libya, the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Myanmar, Colombia, and Mali are currently in civil wars. Mexico is at war with the drug cartels in the country.
How many countries are currently at war?

There are 32 countries currently at war.

Not all events or special /unspecial operations are equal. All are pure sad, but whatever we hear from anyone is suspect. Facts cannot be verified.
It is the scourge of humanity. We cannot love each other enough for so many reasons.
We can but pray that this too shall pass.
I pray peace for all at war.
All are awful, and in 2024 sparks are likely to fly.

    • I know, the lack of honest press, the corrupt governments and by now I worked out who’s the only culprit behind all. My hope is that some people might pull out of the hole they have been placed into otherwise, back to slavery.

      • South Africa is vulnerable right now. Our election is close and it will be interesting to see how Africans vote. So many are uninformed and then misled and manipulated. The few are working hard to make an impact on society, and I keep my hopes high. As you say we know who is behind the veil. Keep safe and your hopes high.
